How To Enjoy Avocado - Simple Ideas You'll Love

If you are what you eat, we’re probably avocado.
Oh avocado, with your pastel green colour and dreamy, creamy texture. We just want to tell the world how much we love you. We think that might already be quite obvious, though, because we use it in lots of our recipes – we just can’t get enough. Not only is that great for avocado afficionados, but it also helps us reduce waste in our kitchens, too, because every slice and sliver gets put to delicious use.
From breakfast to lunch, avocado is a star ingredient at Pret. So in this, our ode to avo, let us tell you all the ways you can enjoy this creamy, green(y) fruit.

Super in sarnies
Sliced, seasoned and served in a sandwich, avocado is a major player on our lunchtime menu too. Our Chicken, Avocado & Basil sandwich is one of our bestsellers – and with good reason. We take British chicken and layer it (generously, of course) with sliced avocado and whole-leaf basil, then top it with mixed salad leaves and a dollop of yoghurt mayo.
Wonderful in a wrap
We’ve only gone and stuck it in a wrap too – our Falafel, Avo & Chipotle Salad Wrap, to be exact. This vegetarian delight stars sweet potato falafel and freshly sliced avocado, supported by a cast of greats like pickled onions, red peppers, fresh coriander and charred corn salsa. Oh, and a dollop of chipotle ketchup too (because, why not?).
What’s green, delicious and great in a salad?
Yep, you guessed it. It’s avocado. This fantastic fruit is as versatile as it is tasty, which is why we use it in loads of our salads too. Like our Chicken & Avo Protein Bowl; where British chicken cosies up to sliced avocado, soya edamame beans and spinach in what can only be described as a flavour-packed dishful of goodness. We’ve even popped a boiled egg in for an extra protein punch.
Meat-free and super-tasty, our Chickpea, Avo & Egg Bowl is a veritable smorgasbord of seriously yummy ingredients, including avo (obvs), roasted garlic chickpeas, shredded purple cabbage, a hard-boiled egg and our silky humous.
