The Home of the Christmas Sandwich: Pret unwraps its 2024 festive menu

Everybody knows the festive season doesn’t truly begin until Christmas sarnies hit the shops! Well, it may well be time to deck those halls because Pret A Manger has released details of its Christmas menu and it’s as tantalising as you’d expect.

Pret favourites are returning, including the legendary Pret’s Christmas Lunch Sandwich, as well as introducing new flavour combinations to add a dash of joy to the winter gloom with the launch of the Brie & Caramelised Onion Toastie and more.

Christmas is the season for giving and that’s why for every Christmas Lunch Sandwich and Very Merry Sandwich sold, 50p will be donated to The Pret Foundation, which works to alleviate hunger and homelessness by supporting grassroots charities across the UK via food donations, financial aid, and employment opportunities.

"At Pret, we take great pride in pushing the boundaries of festive food innovation while staying true to our roots as the home of the Christmas sandwich," says Katherine Bagshawe, UK Food & Coffee Director. "Our team works tirelessly to create exciting new flavours, and we're thrilled to offer both returning classics and inventive new options, all freshly made every day to ensure the highest quality and taste."

Christmas Sandwich Classics

Pret’s Christmas Lunch Sandwich has become an institution in the UK’s festive food calendar and captures the joy of Christmas dinner in sandwich form with every bite. Thick slices of British turkey, herby pork stuffing, and a generous dollop of Port & orange cranberry sauce are all nestled between slices of malted bread, finished with crispy onions and a touch of baby spinach.

For those embracing plant-based options, the Very Merry Sandwich joins as a vegan-friendly alternative. This festive creation features marinated chargrilled carrots, sweet potato & chickpea stuffing, and that famous Port & orange cranberry sauce, served with pickled cabbage, carrots, and crispy onions on malted bread.

For baguette lovers, the classic Christmas Lunch Baguette offers a crunchy white baguette filled with British turkey, pork stuffing, cranberry sauce, and rocket. Another must-try is the returning Brie, Pistachio & Cranberry Baguette, which combines creamy French brie with roasted pistachios and rocket on a stone-baked baguette – indulgent, savoury, and perfectly festive.

A toastie that’s a returning favourite is the Boxing Day Toastie, made with mature Cheddar cheese, British turkey, pulled British ham, and our herby pork stuffing, finished with a dollop of caramelised onion chutney and sage mayo. Ready to be toasted.

New Festive Innovations

This year, Pret introduces the indulgent Brie & Caramelised Onion Toastie, in select shops – a cheesy delight featuring French brie, mature Cheddar, and sweet caramelised onion chutney, all toasted to perfection on seeded bloomer bread. Another new addition is the Chicken Festive Feast Sandwich, a fresh twist on Christmas classics. British chicken breast is paired with sage mayo, chargrilled carrots, pickled cabbage, and crispy onions, served on malted bread.

For those passing through select airport shops, the Festive Chicken, Cranberry & Pork Stuffing Hot Baguette is a warm, satisfying option, filled with British chicken, Port & orange cranberry sauce, herby pork stuffing, and melted Grevé cheese.

Warm Up with Comforting Classics

For a hearty meal, the all-new Hog Roast Macaroni Cheese is sure to satisfy. This delicious dish features pulled British ham, caramelised onion chutney, and crispy panko breadcrumbs over creamy pasta – comfort food at its finest. And let’s not forget the return of the much-loved Pigs in Blankets Hot Roll, now with a new and improved recipe featuring British pork sausages wrapped in streaky bacon with caramelised onion chutney and mustard mayo, served in a warm ciabatta roll.

For something truly warming, Pret has introduced the Christmas Ham Hock Soup, a chunky, festive soup made with smoked ham, split peas, and root vegetables, simmered with sage and bay leaves – the perfect antidote to chilly winter weather. The soup will be available every day in shops as the meaty option.

Sip on Festive Flavors

No Christmas menu would be complete without festive drinks and desserts. This year, Pret is proud to introduce Kamilla’s Maple Pecan Latte, created by Kamilla, Pret’s Barista Champion of 2024. This festive latte combines organic espresso with steamed milk, maple syrup, and toasted pecan flavours – a true celebration in a cup.

Also on the menu is the classic Festive Orange Hot Chocolate, a rich and creamy blend of high-quality chocolate powder, festive spices, and orange flavour, topped with whipped cream. The base of the drink is a new and improved hot chocolate with more cocoa in it.

Another deliciously sweet option is the Caramelised Almond Latte, made with Pret’s organic espresso, steamed milk, and a combination of buttery caramel and nutty almond flavours, finished with whipped cream and caramel crunch.

Pair these with a classic Mince Pie or the adorable Melvin the Snowman Gingerbread for a perfectly festive treat. Also making a return is the Christmas Tiffin, a chocolate and orange slice topped with white chocolate, cranberries, and pistachios – the perfect sweet treat to go with your festive hot drink.
